About me

I’ve always been drawn to jobs that require me to write about complex concepts in an accessible way. I started my career as a technical writer, learning the latest features of new software releases to write help files and maintain user guides.

I then took a sidestep to pursue my dream of working in publishing. After a brief stint in the magazine world, I landed in higher ed publishing as a developmental editor for college and university textbooks. While the medium was different, the concepts were similar; it was still all about user experience. I worked to ensure the voice, pedagogical features, and chapter structures were clear and consistent across each book.

I was reunited with the world of digital content when I moved to Capital One in 2017. The more I helped to build experiences for our online banking platform and app, the more I realized this was what I wanted to do every day. Since then, I have continued my career as a content designer contributing to organizations primarily in fintech, like Questrade and Square.

Outside of work, my hobbies all seem to start with the letter P: puzzles; Pilates; and my puppy, Penny.
